In this new interview series you'll get to meet some of the millions of people in the relatable index and hear their point of view, honest opinions and advice to marketing teams and brands that are looking to engage the growing long-tail of digital influential talent.

Meet @poloshyyt – one of 260 people that participated in our recent global campaign with Polaroid Eyewear.

Alright let's get started, Louis. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Louis, I'm 21 years old and work as a web designer .

Cool, where do you live, Louis?

Los Angeles, CA United States

So, you’ve a lot of followers on Instagram with exceptionally high engagement, how did that happen?

I opened my Instagram account in 2011 from the Dominican Republic while on vacation. I started posting my little vacation photos and people soon enough started to react. It all started with a small audience composed of mainly my friends and family, but soon enough others started no notice my page and to like my content.

Besides Instagram,  where else can people find you online?

Now, with a growing fan base and high quality content you're on a really great trajectory. But what's your goal (or dream even) say, in a year from now?  Where would you want to be?

In a year from now I would love to have my very own marketing company. I really enjoy working with companies and small businesses to develop their website and create marketing strategies for them, it is a dream of my mine to do this in a bigger scale.

That sounds so exciting! What's your favourite brand that you follow on Instagram?

Sweet! Speaking of brands and Instagram, how many brands are contacting you for collaborations each month?

Congrats, that's amazing and quickly adds up to alot of opportunities this year. With that many brands reaching out to you, what’s your #1 advice for brands that are looking to run brand marketing campaigns with online content creators and influencers like yourself?

Be reasonable of what you offer and what you want in return from the creator.

And what are your thoughts about brands that are contacting you to do work for them without any compensation (just free products)?

If I genuinely like the product I mostly agree to sharing it with my followers without compensation. I understand every company has a different way of budgeting and if exchanging products is the way I don't see a problem. The issue is that some brands are not reasonable or realistic, they want to do an entire marketing campaign for them for a month -for instance- in exchange of one product.

On the topic of compensation and disclosure, how is your audience reacting to #sponsored posts?

Very well! I always try to make them as organic as possible.

What’s your #1 advice for other digital creators like yourself that are looking to run successful brand collaborations?

Reach out to brands that you think you might have the potential to work with. Don't wait for the opportunities to come to you, go get them!

Final question about brand collaborations then: The Brands that you are choosing to work with – What are the main factors when you choose to collaborate with a brand?

When choosing to collaborate with a brand the main factor to consider are: Making sure they fit my audience's demographic, their product is relatable for my audience, and that I genuinely like the brand.

You recently participated in one of our campaigns with Polaroid Eyewear along with 260 other people. How did this campaign differ from other collaborations you have done or seen others do and why?

I think the coordination within the relatable team is much more efficient. I felt like everyone that I communicated with really cared about us creators being part of the campaign. Emails were responded very promptly and there were various methods of communication with your team.

And what's it like working with Relatable?

Relatable is very different from other agencies I've worked with; they are very efficient and dedicated so that everyone involve in the campaign has a smooth experience. I really liked the constant communication with us the creators :) Awesome!

That's lovely to hear! Final question – If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

I would have dinner with the legendary author and novel prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez simply because of what a great novelist and creator he is. I would love to get some life advices from him :)

Thank you Louis! Anything else you'd like to say?

Thank you guys for having considered me to be part of this collaboration. Keep up the great work! Shoutout to Siri ;)
